Furka Pass, with an elevation of 2,429 metres, is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting Gletsch, Valais with Realp, Uri. The Furka Oberalp Bahn line through the Furka Tunnel bypasses the pass. The base tunnel opened in 1982 and replaced a tunnel at 2100 m. The Furka Pass was used as a location in the James Bond film Goldfinger. One curve on the east side of the pass is even named "James Bond Strasse". At the sign, there is a lookout point with a small parking area.

At the crossroads between the cantons of Bern, Valais and Uri lie the most beautiful road in Switzerland: the Furka Pass! It is a pass of the Swiss Alps located at 7970 feet (2 429 meters) of altitude. The Furka Pass links the city of Oberwald in the Rhone Valley to Andermatt in the Reuss Valley.

It is part of the popular three-pass route with the Grimsel and Susten. In summer, a trip on the nostalgic steam train from Realp to Gletsch on the Furka line is an unforgettable experience, from the end of June to the beginning of October, over 8 miles (13 km) to get closer to the summits.

Above all, it is the starting point for a beautiful walk to the Rhone Glacier through the flowery alpine meadows. You will meet some quiet cows and marmots, this pass will offer you sumptuous landscapes with the summit of the Galenstock 11755 feet (3583 m).

A ride you will never forget with all its twists and turns. The view is breathtaking! On the way back, you can take one of the wagon trains and cross the mountain. 
The famous "Belvedere" allows you to visit what is left of the Rhone Glacier and the cave in the famous glacier! Souvenir store, small friendly shop! A place of junction between the bottom of the Valais and the rest of southern Switzerland.
